Racing Saturday nights at 6:30 pm all summer long!

Ken Schrader Night Set for Saturday

In a highly-anticipated showcase event for the track, NASCAR legend Ken Schrader is set to hit Buxton Speedway on Saturday night (August 9) in the UMP Modified division. Spectator gates open at 4:00 pm and racing begins at 6:30 pm sponsored by London Drain.ca. Tickets for the event are available at the door.

Ken Schrader (Left) and Buxton Speedway promoter Will Marche (Right) meet at the track in 2024. Schrader’s plans to test that night were rained out: but arrangements were made for him to race in an event during the 2025 season.

An icon within the American motorsports’ community, Schrader has driven every kind of race car: late models, modifieds, sports cars, sprint cars, Indy cars and stock cars. His many “roles” in racing include driver, team owner, author, radio and TV commentator, spotter, racetrack promoter, and mentor. Schrader drove at NASCAR’s highest level – the Cup Series for 29 seasons before retiring in 2013 at Miami-Homestead Speedway.

Schrader remains very active in dirt track competition with forty-five scheduled race events in the 2025 season including Saturday’s stop at Buxton Speedway.

“The entire team at Buxton Speedway has been looking forward to this event all season not only because we have the opportunity to see Ken Schrader, a NASCAR and dirt legend, race against our hard-working and dedicated UMP Modifed teams, but because we have the opportunity to put on such an amazing event for all of our fans at Buxton Speedway,” explained prompter Will Marche. “We truly hope fans not only enjoy seeing Ken Schrader in action, but also enjoy some fast-paced action-packed racing from all our classes!”

In addition to the UMP Modified division, fans will also have a chance to see the UMP Late Models, ODCC Thunderstocks, the Mini Mods, and ODCC Mini Stocks: a great chance to catch all five of the local Buxton Speedway divisions in action.

General Admission Prices: Kids age 7 and under enter FREE. Adult tickets are $20, Senior/Youth tickets are $15. Pit admission is $40.

About Buxton Speedway: Buxton Speedway (formerly Southern Ontario Motor Speedway) is 3/8 mile clay banked track which races Saturday nights all summer long. The track is located just outside of Chatham, Ontario, Canada.
