VISITING THE TRACK?

START YOUR VISIT HERE

Buxton Speedway is located near Chatham, Ontario.  View a map to our location.

There is FREE parking available at the track.

Early arrival allows for best seating selection. We recommend about 20 minutes before event start time. That said, many fans arrive throughout the heat race qualifying races that build towards the feature events. Arrive at anytime during the event to see some awesome racing!

Buxton speedway has a variety of seating options from small wooden grandstands to our larger and most popular main grandstand. Bringing some type of cushion is highly recommended in the main grandstand. Some fans have brought lawn chairs as there are some limited areas for lawn chair seating towards turn four.

At the moment, our track is cash only.

Most race events run about 3-4 hours long, including heat races. Some events will run longer or shorter depending on unpredictable on-track events.

A cushion is highly recommended for enhancing the seating in the main grandstand.

We recommend wearing hearing protection: ear plugs or other hearing protection may improve your enjoyment of the event.

Snacks are permitted: no glass, no alcohol.

While the sun is up, having hats and sunglasses may be helpful in getting the best view of the races.

The temperature can drop quickly, even during warm summer events.  Sweaters, coats, and blankets may be helpful.

You may wish to bring binoculars to get an even more up-close view of the action.

Our food concession is up and running for your convenience. Come on down just past the main entrance for great food options and beverages throughout the night.

What is Buxton Speedway’s recording policy?

Our track recording policy are very similar & parts of our policy section is the exact same as (2) out of the (3) other Dirt Tracks in Ontario.

They are the same recording policy – rules as they have been, before The “Marche” family purchased the speedway in 2024.

Meaning there has been no rule changes or adjustments to the speedway recoding policy.

Video recording rules at:

Buxton Speedway, allow personal, non-commercial video recording by spectators using personal cameras or phones, but strictly prohibit commercial use of the footage without explicit written consent. Especially concerning professional equipment and safety.

Spectator Rules

•Personal Use: Buxton speedway permit fans to bring personal cameras and video recording devices (including cell phones) to record for private use.

•Commercial Use is Prohibited: Recording for advertising, promotion, or resale (commercial use) is strictly forbidden without a special media pass.

The express written consent of the speedway/event organizers.

•Equipment Limitations:

•Tripods/Monopods: These are often prohibited in grandstand areas because they can block the view or create a safety hazard for other spectators.

•Drones: Drones are almost universally prohibited.

•Safety & Conduct: Recording should not interfere with the enjoyment or safety of other guests. Buxton Speedway reserves the right to eject any person who fails to comply with the terms and conditions.

Participant (Racer) Rules

•Secure Mounting: In-car or on-car cameras are generally allowed for competitors, but they must be securely mounted to withstand the loads from racing (no suction cups, wire ties, etc., unless also tethered).

•Placement Restrictions: Cameras may have restrictions on where they can be mounted (e.g., not pointing directly at another driver) to ensure safety and privacy.

•Footage Rights: The racing organization or track may reserve the right to any recorded footage in the event of an injury or incident investigation.

• Buxton Speedway permits personal cameras for spectator use in the grandstands, including likely personal video recording devices (like cell phones or small camcorders), as long as they do not block the view of other spectators.

•The use of tripods in spectator areas is prohibited.

•For media professionals, a specific media application and credentials are required to gain access to restricted areas like the infield, and commercial use or selling of photos/videos without explicit permission can result in the revocation of media passes.

The official rules for spectators emphasize general safety and comfort:

No coolers larger than 14″x14″x14″.

No glass bottles of any kind.

Smoking is prohibited in the grandstand seatingBuxton Speedway management reserves the right to modify these terms and revoke permission at any time. For general spectators, personal video recording for private use is generally allowed from the seating areas, provided it is done in a non-disruptive manner
