Enduro Rule Package
“Enduro 1500” is a specific class, General rules for this type of race emphasize safety and keeping vehicles close to stock appearance and performance.
Key rules for Enduro 1500 truck races include:
Vehicle Requirements
• Stock Vehicles: The races are stock.
unmodified vehicles to keep costs down and ensure a level playing field. Performance-enhancing modifications are not allowed.
• Truck Size: Any 1500 2 Wheel Drive truck.
(e.g., Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado)
No full-sized trucks (1/2 ton and larger).
• Drivetrain: Vehicles must be two-wheel drive (front or rear). 4×4 or All-Wheel Drive vehicles are not permitted, or the front driveline must be removed.
• Engine: limited to 4- or 6-cylinder engines, with no turbos or superchargers.
• Tires and Wheels: Only DOT-approved, ALL Season street-legal tires are permitted.
with a minimum treadwear rating (e.g., 200 or higher).
No racing tires or Snow – Mud truck tires are allowed.
( NO CHAINS OR SPIKES ALLOWED. )
• Body: The stock body must be retained, with no cutting or chopping. All glass except the windshield must be removed, and all doors, hoods, and trunks must be securely fastened (welded, chained, or pinned shut).
Safety Regulations
• Mandatory Safety Gear: Drivers are required to wear an approved helmet (Snell 2015 SA or newer), fire suit, gloves, and neck restraint/brace.
• Roll Cage: A roll bar or a full roll cage is mandatory.
• Fuel System: The original fuel tank may be used if located ahead of the rear axle; otherwise, a fuel cell in the trunk is required, separated from the driver by a steel firewall.
• No Alcohol/Drugs: Consumption of alcohol or drugs by drivers or crew is strictly prohibited before or during an event and results in immediate disqualification.
Race Procedures
• No Two-Way Communication: Radios or cell phones are not permitted between drivers and crew.
• Black Flags: A black flag typically means an unsafe condition (e.g., flat tire, parts dragging, rough driving),
requiring the driver to exit the track immediately for repair or disqualification.
• Inspections: Vehicles must go to tech inspection before and after the race, and officials’ decisions are final.

Enduro van race rules:
safety modifications while keeping the vehicle’s core components (engine, transmission, suspension) strictly stock to ensure fair and inexpensive racing.
Vehicle Requirements
• Permitted Vehicles: Mini-vans are allowed,
(no full-size, V8, or 4×4/AWD vehicles).
• Body: The body must remain stock in appearance. All exterior trim, headlights, taillights, and plastic bumper covers must be removed.
• Interior: All flammable materials, upholstery, and rear seats must be removed. The dashboard and front driver’s seat may remain. Airbags must be removed.
• Glass: All glass must be removed, except the windshield (which can be replaced with Lexan). The windshield area must have metal safety bars or a metal mesh screen installed for driver protection.
• Doors & Hood/Trunk: All doors must be welded, chained, or bolted shut. Hoods and trunks must be secured with hood pins or chains, with the factory latch removed.
Safety Equipment
• Driver Safety Gear:
◦ An approved full-face helmet (Snell 2015 or higher recommended) is mandatory.
◦ A fire suit, gloves, and neck restraint are highly recommended.
◦ Drivers must wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts at a minimum (no nylon clothing).
• Vehicle Safety Enhancements:
◦ Roll cages are mandatory, with a minimum number of door bars for side impact protection.
◦ Window nets are recommended.
◦ Heavy-duty lap and shoulder belts or a 4/5-point racing harness are recommended
Mechanical Rules
• Engine & Drivetrain: The engine, transmission, and rear end must remain strictly stock for the make and model of the vehicle. No performance modifications, turbos, or superchargers are allowed.
• Suspension: Suspension parts must be stock, with no modifications or reinforcement.
• Tires: Only stock, DOT-approved tires are permitted
(no racing or performance tires). All four tires must be the same size.
NO SNOW OR MUD TIRES.
• Fuel System:
If the fuel tank location is ahead of the rear axle and securely fastened. If located behind the rear axle, it must be replaced with a fuel cell securely mounted in the trunk with a fire wall separating it from the driver compartment. Water is suggest as coolant instead of antifreeze.
Race Conduct
• Communication: No two-way. radios, scanners, or cell phones are allowed in the car during the race.
• Driving: Aggressive or purposeful rough driving is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification, as enduros are not demolition derbies.
• Scoring: Races are scored using transponders, and each team may need to provide a scorer. Pit stops are permitted under green flag conditions only.
• Black Flags: A black flag typically means an unsafe condition (e.g., flat tire, parts dragging, rough driving),
requiring the driver to

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of
racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules
shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are
deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE
RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and
are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The Race
Director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the
specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the
minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY
SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or
deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final. No
equipment will be considered as having been approved by reason of having passed through
inspection unobserved. The Race Director reserves the right to add, delete, modify, or update
the rules at any time in the interest of providing parity for all competitors. These changes may be
made via an announcement at the driver meeting, notation on the official entry coupon or a
technical bulletin, and automatically amend all specifications herein. It is the responsibility of the
competitor to obtain and become familiar with the current rules pertaining to the division in which
he/she chooses to participate.

2022 ENDURO RULES
General Info:
• This racing is intended for people who don’t want to spend a lot of time and money to go
racing.
• Races will be run with no caution flags. A red flag will be used, only if an unsafe
situation occurs (driver’s door exposed to traffic, fire, medical emergency, etc).
• In the event of an unsafe situation, the race will be temporarily stopped with a red flag.
• Any driver that is considered to be driving in an unsafe manner will be disqualified
and not allowed to continue.
• Rough driving, verbal abuse or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. No further
warning will be given. If violated, the team may be disqualified.
• The safety of each car and all equipment is the complete responsibility of the
driver/owner, and the driver/owner acknowledges this responsibility by participating
in any activity
• All cars participating are subject to technical inspection.
• Any cars with illegal parts will be disqualified, or you can choose to remove the illegal
parts. If you choose to make changes to remove the parts, the car must return to tech
again once the changes have been made in order to be approved.
• Drivers or their crews will not consume alcoholic beverages or drugs at any time
prior to or during an event. Use, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs or alcoholic
beverages is prohibited. Participation by a team member/driver in either activity
will result in disqualification with loss of earnings for that event.
• If you are not sure of anything on your car, check with an official before the race.
• Any car that is excessively rusted or battered to the point of being unsafe will not be
allowed to compete.
• Red flag: All cars must stop in a safe manner.
• Black flag: If the Black Flag is waved for you, it means you are in need of a repair
such as parts dragging or rough driving and must return to the pits immediately (or
infield clear of the racing surface). Scoring will stop for you.
• If you were given the black flag, the driver or a crew member must talk with the official
at the pit chalkboard. You may drive your car safely and slowly to the area by the pit
grandstands/chalkboard to get your official ruling on if you are allowed back on the
racing surface. The track official will notify you if you will be able to return to the racing
surface. Failure to leave the track will result in disqualification from the remaining race
or all events.
• Transponders for the 100-lap race will be used. No Scorers will be required.
Safety:
• A helmet must be worn in all race events. It must be an approved DOT/Snell full-face
helmet.
• Helmet must be in good condition.
• The factory seat belt must be in good condition and must lock when pulled quickly.
• 4-point or 5-point racing belts in good condition are highly recommended.
• Entrants must wear gloves, a long sleeve shirt (ex. long sleeved t-shirt, hoodie, jean
jacket, leather jacket, coveralls), and long pants. Racing suits and fireproof gloves
are highly recommended.
• All cars must have a switch to shut off the electric fuel pump if the fuel pump is not
run on a stock relay.
• Roll bars or Roll cages are highly recommended.
Cars Specifications
1. Open to American or Foreign Manufactured (STREET CARS ONLY)
2. All vehicles are to remain stock for make, model and year. The engine, rear end (or
transaxle) and transmission must remain stock (No welded transaxles). The only
acceptable modifications to the car are explained in detail in the following sections of this
rule book.
3. Any 3, 4-, 5-, 6- or 8-cylinder cars are allowed.
4. 2 door, 4-door sedan, hatchback, wagon, or full frames cars all allowed
5. V6 Division cars and bone stock division cars are allowed to run in the enduro but must
be within enduro rules
6. Front or rear wheel drive.
7. 4 wheel drive cars will only be allowed if the rear or front axles/driveshaft are removed.
8. No vans, trucks, T tops or convertibles, SUVs, rear engine vehicles, pick-up
trucks, race cars, street stocks, pro stocks or similar of any kind
9. Turbo, diesel or supercharged cars are allowed (Must be stock for the year and model.
No adding any of these to a car that wasn’t built with it)
Roof Sign:
• Cars must have a roof sign 12” x 8“ at a minimum. Mandatory for 100 lap days, but
highly recommended for all races. For events that are less than 100 laps, your sign
may have your own car number on it.
• Must have bright numbers that are easy to read. Roof fin must be on before technical
inspection.
• Roof sign will be given to you by Merrittville Speedway on the day of the 100-lap event.
You may also run your own roof sign instead of the one the track supplies but must
have your starting position number (assigned by the track) on the sign.
• You can have your own roof sign on for all events and races shorter than 100 laps.
• Must be only displayed on the roof.
• May be held using bolts, rivets, or self tappers (only place on the car these are allowed).
Body:
• Any holes in the floors/trunk must be patched and secured by metal with rivets, weld or
bolts.
• Must secure doors, hood, and trunk before tech!
• Doors must not be able to open. Use of the manufacture lock is not enough.
• Trunks can have options that allow them to be reopened for crew use. Hoods must be
able to be reopened for safety purposes.
• Doors and trunk must be secured in at least 2 places per door and trunk. You can
weld, use demo style bolting (trunk only), use chains, use seat belts or wire shut. If
you choose to use welded washers to secure doors, they must be a decent size. No
tiny washers, but no larger than 4” x 4”
• Sunroof must be replaced with metal or mesh (Must be welded, bolted or riveted to the
body panel). No self-tappers.
• Hatches, trunk lids and hoods are not to be removed (all must be there to
race/pass inspection)
• Wheel arches can be trimmed for wheel clearance if bent parts.
• No sharp edges anywhere on car
• Inner plastic fender liners may be removed
• All glass and flammable material must be removed with the exception of the stock
windshield. (Broken windshields must be removed)
• Must remove all floor carpet, headliner, and all seats but driver’s seat.
• The car may have outer door handles.
• Must not be any bolt on lead weight anywhere on/in the vehicle, and no pouring
concrete in any body panels/trunk.
• Dashboard can be removed or can remain.
• Stock steering column only. Quick disconnect steering wheels allowed.
• All taillights, headlights, trim, outside side mirrors and any hard plastic assemblies
must be removed.
• You may have a driver’s side racing window net.
• NO VULGAR writing or pictures allowed.
• No dangerous objects on or in the vehicle (metal chairs/object’s etc.).
• Small flags/poles, stuffed animals, balloons, and other soft items used to help spot the
car can be put on the car roof or trunk.
• No self-tappers anywhere on car (may use welds, washers/welded washers, rivets or
bolts to hold things) * Only exception is the roof sign you can use self-tappers *
Airbags:
• ALL AIRBAGS and airbag modules must be removed and unplugged. (This includes
steering wheel, passenger, side curtain and seat airbags)
Hood:
• A hood is mandatory on the car for all events.
• Removal of hood latch and safety catch is mandatory to help aid in case of a fire.
• A minimum of a 15” x 15” inch hole must be cut in the hood. Can be a few holes as
long as total size is the minimum size to expose the carburetor/injectors in event of fire
(even if just doing other events ex: side by side, backwards, chain, demo, etc.).
• No gutting of hood, roof, trunk or any interior metal. Cars with full roll cages may
remove the inner door structure to accommodate the cage.
• Must have a minimum of 2 hood tie downs. Steel hood pins (may use threaded rods
to frame through hood for pining), 2 seat belt buckles with release or 2 seat belts tied
through corners of hood (to aid in case a fire) Must be bolted or riveted to body
panels/frame. No self tappers.
• Can have a racing hood scoop/raised cowl or aftermarket scoop bolted/riveted to factory
hood (must have hole on underside with easy engine access in case of a fire).
• Hoods must not be demo style wired or bolted shut period.
Trunk/Hatch:
• A trunk/hatch is mandatory for all events.
• Trunks must be held down in a minimum of 2 locations. This can be trunk pins, seat
belt, seat belt buckles, metal wire, welding or bolted.
Bumpers/Add on Bumpers:
• Add-on Bumpers may be added to the front bumper (not on the rear). An add-on
bumper (chrome/steel) can be added on from another car or truck. However, they
cannot be wider than the front tires and have no sharp edges. Add-on bumper can be
welded over the factory bumper. This is an option as you don’t have to run.
• If an add-on bumper falls off, the vehicle it came from will be disqualified/black
flagged for creating an unsafe racing condition
• No homemade bumpers on the front or back of the vehicle.
• Pipes in bumpers or stuffed bumpers are not allowed.
• All bumpers must be factory attached or welded/bolted on.
• May run with or without the factory front and rear plastic bumper covers.
Highly recommended to remove front and rear plastic bumper covers.
• May use any means necessary to hold bumpers on, without going past the first 6 inches
of the factory frame rails (measured from the back edge of the bumper).
Unibody/full frame cars:
• No stuffing of front or rear frame rails with pipe/tubing.
• Frame/subframe repairs can be made with welded on plates, no larger than 16sq
inches (1×16, 2×8, 3×5.25, 4×4) and no thicker than ¼ inch thick.
• No over welding.
• All patches/repairs must be highlighted with yellow or orange paint.
Side Rub Rails/Door Metal Plates:
• May have metal rub rail(s)/door plates on both sides of the vehicle.
• Must be rectangular, square tube must be 1 inch x 2 inch (must be beveled tight to
body at ends).
• Must be welded/bolted (min ½ inch bolts).
• May have flat steel bolted/welded on either drivers and/or passenger doors.
• If the rail or plate is bolted in, it is highly recommended to weld bolts on the inner side
of the rail or plate then have bolt threads in the inside door. You must not have threads
of bolts sticking outward.
• Door plate minimum must run 1 x ½ inch bolt (min) for every 8 inch of plate length
• No threaded ends sticking out of the body, no can openers or tire cutters allowed.
Hitches/Receivers:
• Must be removed!!!! No exceptions!!! Remove or don’t come…
Glass/Plastics:
• All hard plastics, lights, exterior mirrors, reflectors, bulbs, and trim must be removed
(Do not just paint over)
• Pieces/shards of glass inside door panels and car must be removed/cleaned out
(trunk, engine bay and inside of car must be clean)
• The driver’s interior door panel can be left for protection, foam or added padding for
protection on the driver’s side is recommended, as long as it does not interfere with
pedal operation.
Windshield:
• If the stock windshield is removed, the complete windshield area must be replaced with
heavy gauge mesh. Heavy duty shopping cart mesh may be used.
• Must have a minimum of one solid bar, tubing, or flat bar in the center of the windshield,
from roof to steel wiper cowl area. Minimum 1” solid bar/ tubing or a 2” x ¼” flat bar in the
center of the windshield area. If you don’t have the stock windshield. Must be bolted and
or welded on.
• No cracks on the front stock windshield allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS. If it’s cracked,
you must replace it with mesh.
• NO CHICKEN WIRE, SCREEN DOOR MESH OR CHAIN LINK FENCE ACCEPTED.
• May leave factory rear view mirror on stock windshield or mount to mesh windshield.
• If you’re using mesh it must be a heavy gauge mesh with a max hole size of 1 inch.
• Heavy duty mesh front windshield may be held with rivets, welded, or bolted in. No
using hose clamps to attach your mesh to the body or self tappers.
• May run with wipers and wiper cowl.
• May have windshield washer fluid/bottle. Highly recommended to remove.
Roll Bar/Roll Cage:
• A minimum two-point roll bar is very highly recommended.
• Must be a minimum 1 ¾” X .095” round or square tubing welded to 6” X 6” X 3/16”
plate welded or bolted to the floor with minimum four- 7/16” bolts with large washers.
Roll bars can be welded to minimum 2” X 1” square tubing welded or bolted to floor
or rocker panels.
• A horizontal bar must be welded or bolted to the left doorpost and right door post and
must be welded or bolted to the roll bar.
• Four door cars can weld or bolt the horizontal bar to the left rear door panel and right
doorpost and must be welded or bolted to the roll bar.
• Roll bar/roll cage supports from top of cage to back trunk or rear seat area is allowed.
• One driver’s door bar at a minimum is very highly recommended.
• Bars must be padded where contact may occur.
• No cage hoops in trunk or engine bay areas allowed.
• No exhaust tubing as a roll bar or roll cage allowed.
Roll Cage:
• 4 point or more roll cage allowed and very highly recommended.

Back Seat Support/Seat:

• If no roll bar or cage behind the seat, it is mandatory to have a ratchet strap or chain
from left to right door pillar
• Stock type driver’s seat, aftermarket style race seat, aluminum racing seat
allowed. No fiberglass seats.
• Racing seats are allowed to be bolted to the bottom factory seat mount that bolts to the
body.
Battery:
• Batteries allowed to remain under the hood but must be secured and terminals covered
with a rubber mat/sheet.
• Battery can be moved into the passenger compartment, but must be securely mounted
to the floor. If not secured to a satisfactory level of inspecting tech officials, you will
have to move it back under the hood.
• Battery cables must be run through an area with no sharp edges. Recommend to use
plastic conduit or rubber hose to protect wire from rubbing through on metal.
• May run a battery on/off switch.
• If battery relocated
• Must be in a spill proof container or covered with an airbag lining material or
rubber mat.
• May have threaded rod and steel bar/angle iron to make a hold down
around the plastic battery box.
• Must be in a battery box or battery tray to hold it down and bolted to the
floor if located in the vehicle or a ratchet strap tie downs holding it tight
to the floor (Minimum 1-inch-wide strap). No just bolting in a plastic
battery box.
Fuel Tank:
< Battery Box
• Original gas tank in original position under rear floor allowed. Must have secure straps
and no leaks.
• May have a skid plate under the tank.
• If placed in the trunk, must have a metal rear firewall to cover the rear seat back wall.
• If the tank is in the trunk, it must be securely mounted with a minimum of two metal
straps 1” x ⅛” thick bolted to the trunk floor (very highly recommended) or four 1”
ratchet strap tie downs.
• Stock steel or stock plastic tanks can be in the trunk.
• May have a racing fuel cell, steel boat tank (no plastic) or steel demo style tanks in the
trunk instead of factory. Tank must be fully mounted and secured to the trunk.
• Cars must have a minimum steel rear firewall, if the gas tank is in the trunk area.
• Rubber fuel line can be under the car or be run inside the car interior if tied down (must
be the right fuel line rating for fuel injection or carb psi rating line).
• No leaking fuel lines. Steel fuel filters only (no plastic filters).
Brakes:
• Brakes must be working, and able to build/hold pressure in tech.
• No brake line shut offs.
• Can have drilled and/or slotted rotors.
• Any brake pads and brake shoes allowed.
• No leaking brake lines.
Firewall:
• Cars must have a minimum steel rear firewall if the gas tank is in the trunk area.
• Holes in the front factory firewall must be patched with appropriate metal sheeting.
Wheels and Tires:
• Any steel or factory aluminum rims can be run on any corner of the car.
• Rim/tire sizes can be mixed.
• No valve stem protectors allowed.
• Ice, all season, snow, and spare tires are all allowed with any tread wear rating.
• Plastic hubcaps and wheel weights must be removed.
• Must be street legal passenger car tires only with DOT numbers allowed and readable.
• No truck tires, skid steer tires, atv, bobcat, racing tires.
• Steel or Alum wheels can be from any make.
• May run tire tubes on any corner.
• Must run with all studs and nuts on the vehicle (So if it has 5 wheel studs it MUST
have 5 wheel nuts).
• No grooving or siping of tires allowed.
• No tires/rims may remain at the Speedway.
• No aftermarket/fancy/dress-up rims allowed.
• No bead locks allowed.
Steering:
• May have a steering wheel quick release welded to the stock column and racing wheel.
• No steering wheel knobs.
• No steering quickeners.
Suspension:
• Springs, shocks, steering arms, and bushings must be stock replacement.
• No lowering springs.
• No racing springs.
• All suspension must be stock with no modifications or racing parts other than the
exceptions noted in the rules.
• May have spring spacer
• Weak or rusty parts can be reinforced/welded.
• RWD cars may add a rear differential track bar/pan hard bar to help keep it square for
racing. Can have Heim ends (even if did not have this option from the factory).
Cooling System:
• Any automobile radiator allowed. No racing rads.
• Any electronic or mechanical fans allowed.
• May remove the heater core and loop lines.
For the following, pick one or the other! You can’t do both!!! (May run without if you
choose): –
If factory plastic or metal radiator support is badly bent, broken or rotted out
(may cut out and use the max two 2” horizontal bars and max two 2” vertical bars to
fabricate a new support /rad mount). Also, one center rad guard may be added, max
2” tubing. No other bars are allowed forward of the front firewall.
OR – Two horizontal bars and two vertical bars to protect the radiator are allowed. Maximum
2” round or square tubing. If using 1” round or square tubing is used, may have up to 3
of each. ALL Bars must be under the hood, behind and or on the front factory bumper.
No bracing forward or back of the radiator support. No other bars are allowed forward of
the front firewall.
Engine:
• Must be stock to make and model.
• No modifications beyond the throttle plates.
• No performance upgrades.
• Aftermarket performance filters and cone type filters allowed. Cold air intake allowed.
• Factory diagnostic connectors must be working and present.
• No tuning of your stock computer/pcm or you will not be allowed to race.
• Stock computer may be moved to a safer location. Can be moved to inside engine
bay or wiper cowl area (Only if your stock computer is factory mounted outside the
factory frame rails)
• May add an aftermarket/stock oil cooler (must be located in front of the engine
firewall forward), clear of any rough/sharp edges.
• May have a skid plate under the oil pan.
Exhaust:
• May have headers.
• May have demo style exhaust through hood.
• Must stay under the car or can run through the hood.
• NO EXHAUST INSIDE CAR ALLOWED!
• Any exhaust allowed but must not blow on the gas tank.
Transmission:
• Stock transmission only.
• No welding of FWD transmissions.
• May add an aftermarket/stock transmission cooler (must be located in front of the
engine firewall forward) clear of all sharp edges.
• May have a skid plate under the transmission.
Differentials:
• Factory limited slip allowed.
• Factory Posi-track differentials allowed.
• Welded Rear differentials allowed.
One, Two Way Radios, or Phone Communication:
• No two-way radio communication allowed.
• One-way radio to the tower is allowed as official’s will be used to aid in any on track
issue.
• No phones allowed for communication.
Transponder (used only during 50+ lap races):
• Must be located on the back driver’s side inner frame rail over rear differential (RWD
cars) and back drivers side rear trailing arm/beam (FWD cars).
• Must be mounted under the car with the bottom of the transponder able to see the
ground. No mounting inside vehicle unless the transponder is your own personal
property. If it’s your own transponder you may have it in a holder in the trunk with a

Technical Inspection:
Merrittville Speedway reserves the right to perform technical inspection on any car at any time.
Cars may be asked to proceed immediately to the Tech Inspection area after exiting the
racetrack. If asked to tech, no team members are allowed to touch or remove any part of the
race car without receiving prior approval of the Head Tech Official. Cars must enter the tech
area as instructed by inspectors. The team is responsible for preparing only the area(s) of the
race car for inspection as requested by the HEAD TECH OFFICIAL in a timely manner. Any
participant (team) who refuses to allow tech officials to inspect their car at any time or follow
inspection directions and procedures may be subject to immediate disqualification from the
event and loss of prize money for that event.

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of
racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules
shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are
deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE
RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and

Director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the
specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the

deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final. No
equipment will be considered as having been approved by reason of having passed through
inspection unobserved. The Race Director reserves the right to add, delete, modify, or update
the rules at any time in the interest of providing parity for all competitors. These changes may be
made via an announcement at the driver meeting, notation on the official entry coupon or a
technical bulletin, and automatically amend all specifications herein. It is the responsibility of the
competitor to obtain and become familiar with the current rules pertaining to the division in which
he/she chooses to participate.

2022 ENDURO RULES
General Info:
• This racing is intended for people who don’t want to spend a lot of time and money to go
racing.
• Races will be run with no caution flags. A red flag will be used, only if an unsafe
situation occurs (driver’s door exposed to traffic, fire, medical emergency, etc).
• In the event of an unsafe situation, the race will be temporarily stopped with a red flag.
• Any driver that is considered to be driving in an unsafe manner will be disqualified
and not allowed to continue.
• Rough driving, verbal abuse or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. No further
warning will be given. If violated, the team may be disqualified.
• The safety of each car and all equipment is the complete responsibility of the
driver/owner, and the driver/owner acknowledges this responsibility by participating
in any activity
• All cars participating are subject to technical inspection.
• Any cars with illegal parts will be disqualified, or you can choose to remove the illegal
parts. If you choose to make changes to remove the parts, the car must return to tech
again once the changes have been made in order to be approved.
• Drivers or their crews will not consume alcoholic beverages or drugs at any time
prior to or during an event. Use, sale, or distribution of illegal drugs or alcoholic
beverages is prohibited. Participation by a team member/driver in either activity
will result in disqualification with loss of earnings for that event.
• If you are not sure of anything on your car, check with an official before the race.
• Any car that is excessively rusted or battered to the point of being unsafe will not be
allowed to compete.
• Red flag: All cars must stop in a safe manner.
• Black flag: If the Black Flag is waved for you, it means you are in need of a repair
such as parts dragging or rough driving and must return to the pits immediately (or
infield clear of the racing surface). Scoring will stop for you.
• If you were given the black flag, the driver or a crew member must talk with the official
at the pit chalkboard. You may drive your car safely and slowly to the area by the pit
grandstands/chalkboard to get your official ruling on if you are allowed back on the
racing surface. The track official will notify you if you will be able to return to the racing
surface. Failure to leave the track will result in disqualification from the remaining race
or all events.
• Transponders for the 100-lap race will be used. No Scorers will be required.
Safety:
• A helmet must be worn in all race events. It must be an approved DOT/Snell full-face
helmet.
• Helmet must be in good condition.
• The factory seat belt must be in good condition and must lock when pulled quickly.
• 4-point or 5-point racing belts in good condition are highly recommended.
• Entrants must wear gloves, a long sleeve shirt (ex. long sleeved t-shirt, hoodie, jean
jacket, leather jacket, coveralls), and long pants. Racing suits and fireproof gloves
are highly recommended.
• All cars must have a switch to shut off the electric fuel pump if the fuel pump is not
run on a stock relay.
• Roll bars or Roll cages are highly recommended.
Cars Specifications
1. Open to American or Foreign Manufactured (STREET CARS ONLY)
2. All vehicles are to remain stock for make, model and year. The engine, rear end (or
transaxle) and transmission must remain stock (No welded transaxles). The only
acceptable modifications to the car are explained in detail in the following sections of this
rule book.
3. Any 3, 4-, 5-, 6- or 8-cylinder cars are allowed.
4. 2 door, 4-door sedan, hatchback, wagon, or full frames cars all allowed
5. V6 Division cars and bone stock division cars are allowed to run in the enduro but must
be within enduro rules
6. Front or rear wheel drive.
7. 4 wheel drive cars will only be allowed if the rear or front axles/driveshaft are removed.
8. No vans, trucks, T tops or convertibles, SUVs, rear engine vehicles, pick-up
trucks, race cars, street stocks, pro stocks or similar of any kind
9. Turbo, diesel or supercharged cars are allowed (Must be stock for the year and model.
No adding any of these to a car that wasn’t built with it)
Roof Sign:
• Cars must have a roof sign 12” x 8“ at a minimum. Mandatory for 100 lap days, but
highly recommended for all races. For events that are less than 100 laps, your sign
may have your own car number on it.
• Must have bright numbers that are easy to read. Roof fin must be on before technical
inspection.
• Roof sign will be given to you by Merrittville Speedway on the day of the 100-lap event.
You may also run your own roof sign instead of the one the track supplies but must
have your starting position number (assigned by the track) on the sign.
• You can have your own roof sign on for all events and races shorter than 100 laps.
• Must be only displayed on the roof.
• May be held using bolts, rivets, or self tappers (only place on the car these are allowed).
Body:
• Any holes in the floors/trunk must be patched and secured by metal with rivets, weld or
bolts.
• Must secure doors, hood, and trunk before tech!
• Doors must not be able to open. Use of the manufacture lock is not enough.
• Trunks can have options that allow them to be reopened for crew use. Hoods must be
able to be reopened for safety purposes.
• Doors and trunk must be secured in at least 2 places per door and trunk. You can
weld, use demo style bolting (trunk only), use chains, use seat belts or wire shut. If
you choose to use welded washers to secure doors, they must be a decent size. No
tiny washers, but no larger than 4” x 4”
• Sunroof must be replaced with metal or mesh (Must be welded, bolted or riveted to the
body panel). No self-tappers.
• Hatches, trunk lids and hoods are not to be removed (all must be there to
race/pass inspection)
• Wheel arches can be trimmed for wheel clearance if bent parts.
• No sharp edges anywhere on car
• Inner plastic fender liners may be removed
• All glass and flammable material must be removed with the exception of the stock
windshield. (Broken windshields must be removed)
• Must remove all floor carpet, headliner, and all seats but driver’s seat.
• The car may have outer door handles.
• Must not be any bolt on lead weight anywhere on/in the vehicle, and no pouring
concrete in any body panels/trunk.
• Dashboard can be removed or can remain.
• Stock steering column only. Quick disconnect steering wheels allowed.
• All taillights, headlights, trim, outside side mirrors and any hard plastic assemblies
must be removed.
• You may have a driver’s side racing window net.
• NO VULGAR writing or pictures allowed.
• No dangerous objects on or in the vehicle (metal chairs/object’s etc.).
• Small flags/poles, stuffed animals, balloons, and other soft items used to help spot the
car can be put on the car roof or trunk.
• No self-tappers anywhere on car (may use welds, washers/welded washers, rivets or
bolts to hold things) * Only exception is the roof sign you can use self-tappers *
Airbags:
• ALL AIRBAGS and airbag modules must be removed and unplugged. (This includes
steering wheel, passenger, side curtain and seat airbags)
Hood:
• A hood is mandatory on the car for all events.
• Removal of hood latch and safety catch is mandatory to help aid in case of a fire.
• A minimum of a 15” x 15” inch hole must be cut in the hood. Can be a few holes as
long as total size is the minimum size to expose the carburetor/injectors in event of fire
(even if just doing other events ex: side by side, backwards, chain, demo, etc.).
• No gutting of hood, roof, trunk or any interior metal. Cars with full roll cages may
remove the inner door structure to accommodate the cage.
• Must have a minimum of 2 hood tie downs. Steel hood pins (may use threaded rods
to frame through hood for pining), 2 seat belt buckles with release or 2 seat belts tied
through corners of hood (to aid in case a fire) Must be bolted or riveted to body
panels/frame. No self tappers.
• Can have a racing hood scoop/raised cowl or aftermarket scoop bolted/riveted to factory
hood (must have hole on underside with easy engine access in case of a fire).
• Hoods must not be demo style wired or bolted shut period.
Trunk/Hatch:
• A trunk/hatch is mandatory for all events.
• Trunks must be held down in a minimum of 2 locations. This can be trunk pins, seat
belt, seat belt buckles, metal wire, welding or bolted.
Bumpers/Add on Bumpers:
• Add-on Bumpers may be added to the front bumper (not on the rear). An add-on
bumper (chrome/steel) can be added on from another car or truck. However, they
cannot be wider than the front tires and have no sharp edges. Add-on bumper can be
welded over the factory bumper. This is an option as you don’t have to run.
• If an add-on bumper falls off, the vehicle it came from will be disqualified/black
flagged for creating an unsafe racing condition
• No homemade bumpers on the front or back of the vehicle.
• Pipes in bumpers or stuffed bumpers are not allowed.
• All bumpers must be factory attached or welded/bolted on.
• May run with or without the factory front and rear plastic bumper covers.
Highly recommended to remove front and rear plastic bumper covers.
• May use any means necessary to hold bumpers on, without going past the first 6 inches
of the factory frame rails (measured from the back edge of the bumper).
Unibody/full frame cars:
• No stuffing of front or rear frame rails with pipe/tubing.
• Frame/subframe repairs can be made with welded on plates, no larger than 16sq
inches (1×16, 2×8, 3×5.25, 4×4) and no thicker than ¼ inch thick.
• No over welding.
• All patches/repairs must be highlighted with yellow or orange paint.
Side Rub Rails/Door Metal Plates:
• May have metal rub rail(s)/door plates on both sides of the vehicle.
• Must be rectangular, square tube must be 1 inch x 2 inch (must be beveled tight to
body at ends).
• Must be welded/bolted (min ½ inch bolts).
• May have flat steel bolted/welded on either drivers and/or passenger doors.
• If the rail or plate is bolted in, it is highly recommended to weld bolts on the inner side
of the rail or plate then have bolt threads in the inside door. You must not have threads
of bolts sticking outward.
• Door plate minimum must run 1 x ½ inch bolt (min) for every 8 inch of plate length
• No threaded ends sticking out of the body, no can openers or tire cutters allowed.
Hitches/Receivers:
• Must be removed!!!! No exceptions!!! Remove or don’t come…
Glass/Plastics:
• All hard plastics, lights, exterior mirrors, reflectors, bulbs, and trim must be removed
(Do not just paint over)
• Pieces/shards of glass inside door panels and car must be removed/cleaned out
(trunk, engine bay and inside of car must be clean)
• The driver’s interior door panel can be left for protection, foam or added padding for
protection on the driver’s side is recommended, as long as it does not interfere with
pedal operation.
Windshield:
• If the stock windshield is removed, the complete windshield area must be replaced with
heavy gauge mesh. Heavy duty shopping cart mesh may be used.
• Must have a minimum of one solid bar, tubing, or flat bar in the center of the windshield,
from roof to steel wiper cowl area. Minimum 1” solid bar/ tubing or a 2” x ¼” flat bar in the
center of the windshield area. If you don’t have the stock windshield. Must be bolted and
or welded on.
• No cracks on the front stock windshield allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS. If it’s cracked,
you must replace it with mesh.
• NO CHICKEN WIRE, SCREEN DOOR MESH OR CHAIN LINK FENCE ACCEPTED.
• May leave factory rear view mirror on stock windshield or mount to mesh windshield.
• If you’re using mesh it must be a heavy gauge mesh with a max hole size of 1 inch.
• Heavy duty mesh front windshield may be held with rivets, welded, or bolted in. No
using hose clamps to attach your mesh to the body or self tappers.
• May run with wipers and wiper cowl.
• May have windshield washer fluid/bottle. Highly recommended to remove.
Roll Bar/Roll Cage:
• A minimum two-point roll bar is very highly recommended.
• Must be a minimum 1 ¾” X .095” round or square tubing welded to 6” X 6” X 3/16”
plate welded or bolted to the floor with minimum four- 7/16” bolts with large washers.
Roll bars can be welded to minimum 2” X 1” square tubing welded or bolted to floor
or rocker panels.
• A horizontal bar must be welded or bolted to the left doorpost and right door post and
must be welded or bolted to the roll bar.
• Four door cars can weld or bolt the horizontal bar to the left rear door panel and right
doorpost and must be welded or bolted to the roll bar.
• Roll bar/roll cage supports from top of cage to back trunk or rear seat area is allowed.
• One driver’s door bar at a minimum is very highly recommended.
• Bars must be padded where contact may occur.
• No cage hoops in trunk or engine bay areas allowed.
• No exhaust tubing as a roll bar or roll cage allowed.
Roll Cage:
• 4 point or more roll cage allowed and very highly recommended.

Back Seat Support/Seat:

• If no roll bar or cage behind the seat, it is mandatory to have a ratchet strap or chain
from left to right door pillar
• Stock type driver’s seat, aftermarket style race seat, aluminum racing seat
allowed. No fiberglass seats.
• Racing seats are allowed to be bolted to the bottom factory seat mount that bolts to the
body.
Battery:
• Batteries allowed to remain under the hood but must be secured and terminals covered
with a rubber mat/sheet.
• Battery can be moved into the passenger compartment, but must be securely mounted
to the floor. If not secured to a satisfactory level of inspecting tech officials, you will
have to move it back under the hood.
• Battery cables must be run through an area with no sharp edges. Recommend to use
plastic conduit or rubber hose to protect wire from rubbing through on metal.
• May run a battery on/off switch.
• If battery relocated
• Must be in a spill proof container or covered with an airbag lining material or
rubber mat.
• May have threaded rod and steel bar/angle iron to make a hold down
around the plastic battery box.
• Must be in a battery box or battery tray to hold it down and bolted to the
floor if located in the vehicle or a ratchet strap tie downs holding it tight
to the floor (Minimum 1-inch-wide strap). No just bolting in a plastic
battery box.
Fuel Tank:
< Battery Box
• Original gas tank in original position under rear floor allowed. Must have secure straps
and no leaks.
• May have a skid plate under the tank.
• If placed in the trunk, must have a metal rear firewall to cover the rear seat back wall.
• If the tank is in the trunk, it must be securely mounted with a minimum of two metal
straps 1” x ⅛” thick bolted to the trunk floor (very highly recommended) or four 1”
ratchet strap tie downs.
• Stock steel or stock plastic tanks can be in the trunk.
• May have a racing fuel cell, steel boat tank (no plastic) or steel demo style tanks in the
trunk instead of factory. Tank must be fully mounted and secured to the trunk.
• Cars must have a minimum steel rear firewall, if the gas tank is in the trunk area.
• Rubber fuel line can be under the car or be run inside the car interior if tied down (must
be the right fuel line rating for fuel injection or carb psi rating line).
• No leaking fuel lines. Steel fuel filters only (no plastic filters).
Brakes:
• Brakes must be working, and able to build/hold pressure in tech.
• No brake line shut offs.
• Can have drilled and/or slotted rotors.
• Any brake pads and brake shoes allowed.
• No leaking brake lines.
Firewall:
• Cars must have a minimum steel rear firewall if the gas tank is in the trunk area.
• Holes in the front factory firewall must be patched with appropriate metal sheeting.
Wheels and Tires:
• Any steel or factory aluminum rims can be run on any corner of the car.
• Rim/tire sizes can be mixed.
• No valve stem protectors allowed.
• Ice, all season, snow, and spare tires are all allowed with any tread wear rating.
• Plastic hubcaps and wheel weights must be removed.
• Must be street legal passenger car tires only with DOT numbers allowed and readable.
• No truck tires, skid steer tires, atv, bobcat, racing tires.
• Steel or Alum wheels can be from any make.
• May run tire tubes on any corner.
• Must run with all studs and nuts on the vehicle (So if it has 5 wheel studs it MUST
have 5 wheel nuts).
• No grooving or siping of tires allowed.
• No tires/rims may remain at the Speedway.
• No aftermarket/fancy/dress-up rims allowed.
• No bead locks allowed.
Steering:
• May have a steering wheel quick release welded to the stock column and racing wheel.
• No steering wheel knobs.
• No steering quickeners.
Suspension:
• Springs, shocks, steering arms, and bushings must be stock replacement.
• No lowering springs.
• No racing springs.
• All suspension must be stock with no modifications or racing parts other than the
exceptions noted in the rules.
• May have spring spacer
• Weak or rusty parts can be reinforced/welded.
• RWD cars may add a rear differential track bar/pan hard bar to help keep it square for
racing. Can have Heim ends (even if did not have this option from the factory).
Cooling System:
• Any automobile radiator allowed. No racing rads.
• Any electronic or mechanical fans allowed.
• May remove the heater core and loop lines.
For the following, pick one or the other! You can’t do both!!! (May run without if you
choose): –
If factory plastic or metal radiator support is badly bent, broken or rotted out
(may cut out and use the max two 2” horizontal bars and max two 2” vertical bars to
fabricate a new support /rad mount). Also, one center rad guard may be added, max
2” tubing. No other bars are allowed forward of the front firewall.
OR – Two horizontal bars and two vertical bars to protect the radiator are allowed. Maximum
2” round or square tubing. If using 1” round or square tubing is used, may have up to 3
of each. ALL Bars must be under the hood, behind and or on the front factory bumper.
No bracing forward or back of the radiator support. No other bars are allowed forward of
the front firewall.
Engine:
• Must be stock to make and model.
• No modifications beyond the throttle plates.
• No performance upgrades.
• Aftermarket performance filters and cone type filters allowed. Cold air intake allowed.
• Factory diagnostic connectors must be working and present.
• No tuning of your stock computer/pcm or you will not be allowed to race.
• Stock computer may be moved to a safer location. Can be moved to inside engine
bay or wiper cowl area (Only if your stock computer is factory mounted outside the
factory frame rails)
• May add an aftermarket/stock oil cooler (must be located in front of the engine
firewall forward), clear of any rough/sharp edges.
• May have a skid plate under the oil pan.
Exhaust:
• May have headers.
• May have demo style exhaust through hood.
• Must stay under the car or can run through the hood.
• NO EXHAUST INSIDE CAR ALLOWED!
• Any exhaust allowed but must not blow on the gas tank.
Transmission:
• Stock transmission only.
• No welding of FWD transmissions.
• May add an aftermarket/stock transmission cooler (must be located in front of the
engine firewall forward) clear of all sharp edges.
• May have a skid plate under the transmission.
Differentials:
• Factory limited slip allowed.
• Factory Posi-track differentials allowed.
• Welded Rear differentials allowed.
One, Two Way Radios, or Phone Communication:
• No two-way radio communication allowed.
• One-way radio to the tower is allowed as official’s will be used to aid in any on track
issue.
• No phones allowed for communication.
Transponder (used only during 50+ lap races):
• Must be located on the back driver’s side inner frame rail over rear differential (RWD
cars) and back drivers side rear trailing arm/beam (FWD cars).
• Must be mounted under the car with the bottom of the transponder able to see the
ground. No mounting inside vehicle unless the transponder is your own personal
property. If it’s your own transponder you may have it in a holder in the trunk with a
hole cut under the transponder so it will read the track if you choose the trunk area.
• Under it must be able to see the track surface
